The strength of the Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) lies in its members. As the apex body representing farmers across Uganda, our work is only as strong as the farmer groups, cooperatives, and associations that form our network. Membership Development is therefore at the heart of everything we do—ensuring that our members are organized, informed, and equipped to thrive in a competitive agricultural sector.
Building Strong Farmer Organizations
We work closely with farmer groups at the grassroots, district, and regional levels to:
Establish and strengthen farmer associations, cooperatives, and commodity-specific groups.
Provide governance and leadership training to enhance transparency and accountability.
Support registration and formalization of farmer organizations to enable access to services and opportunities.
Expanding Membership Reach
Our membership spans the entire country, covering diverse agricultural enterprises from crops to livestock, fisheries to apiculture. We are continually working to:
Mobilize new members in underrepresented areas and agricultural sectors.
Encourage youth and women to take leadership roles in farming and agribusiness.
Build inclusivity, ensuring that all farmers—regardless of scale—have a voice within UNFFE.
Member Services and Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits to our members, including:
Access to training, advisory, and extension services.
Market linkages and information on pricing and demand trends.
Representation in national, regional, and global agricultural platforms.
Policy advocacy to address challenges and create enabling conditions for farming.
Through Membership Development, UNFFE is creating a stronger, more united farming community—one where every farmer, from the smallest plot to the largest estate, belongs to a network that champions their interests and supports their growth.
