The seasoned trainer is a holder of a MS Management, with a bias on Project Management from Walden University USA, BSc Agriculture from Uganda Martyrs University – Nkozi and the National Diploma in Agriculture from Bukalasa Agricultural College, with enormous experience working with donor funded community development agricultural projects in Uganda and South Sudan. Perez, as he is fondly called, is highly knowledgeable and experienced in sustainable agriculture, adult training, skills development and institutional capacity building as this has been one of his core activities during the last 24+ years of his career progression.
He possesses a good experience of international organizations’ and donor requirements for effective partnerships with local NGOs and UN agencies, a field he has served diligently, with very high commitment to achieving project objectives and results. Perez served before as the District Coordinator for Mpigi District Farmers Association before working as a Project Manager for the Commercial Integrated Farming Initiative with Women for Women International (WWI) in South Sudan, and later on as a Director of Operations for Diar for Rehabilitation and Development Association (DRDA) in South Sudan, where he was implementing partner with Total Exploration and Production South Sudan (TEPSS) through their Corporate Social Responsibility docket where he lead the implementation of high profile development projects in sustainable agriculture. DRDA was also an implementing partner with Save the Children in South Sudan for the Tertiary and Vocational Education Training (TVET programme) for the youths in Lakes state.
In July 2015 Perez joined UNFFE as the Manager of Training and Agricultural Advisory Services until February 2018 when the department was elevated to a directorate and he was appointed as the first director, implementing projects and programs related to sustainable farming and livelihood enhancement including the campaign against counterfeit agricultural inputs in partnership with USAID’s Ag-Inputs Activity and the Market led User Owned ICT4 Ag Information Services project in partnership with CTA.
