Uganda National Farmers Federation held the 25th Annual National Agricultural Show at the Source of the Nile Jinja Show Grounds from the 17th to 23rd July 2017. The show also marked the silver jubilee (25years) of the handover of running the show to UNFFE in 1993 by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). The theme of the show was “Managing the challenges of climate change for sustainable agriculture”.
According to the feedback from a wide range of stakeholders (Show Exhibitors and Show-goers) this year’s agriculture show was the best in the last 25 years both in terms of quality and standard of the exhibits and the overall attendance. Indeed the very high attendance was mainly attributed to the timely and wide publicity the show received through the different media with the financial support from aBi Trust.
The show was officially opened by H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda and the closing ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries
